As a mother, the period of pregnancy is an amazing time. Sure there are hardships, discomforts, and physical difficulties. But it is also a time when you and your baby are one. It’s a period of intimate bonding between you and your little one, and an experience that is truly amazing – knowing that inside your womb, there is a beautiful life slowly growing and blossoming through your nurturing care. That is the beauty behind a maternity photoshoot – the essence of the moment. But of course, it doesn’t hurt to be look good while you’re at it, right? So here are some tips to make sure your pregnancy photoshoot in Dubai is not just memorable but also fabulous:
- Schedule it right – if you’re doing a purely indoor photoshoot, you have very little to worry about in terms of the timing. However, if you’re doing it outdoors, it’s an entirely different matter. Temperatures in Dubai can get incredibly unbearable during some periods of the year, especially during the summer. Exposing yourself to excessive heat for extended periods of time is not good for your health or the baby’s. That is why, if you’re planning on doing an outdoor photoshoot, make sure to schedule it during the ‘cooler’ periods of the year. Sometime between November and March would be ideal – November is when temperatures start to drop a little, as summer starts to make way for the winter season. This is generally the coolest period of the year, which means you could dress comfortably for your shoot, without having to worry about fainting from the heat or looking all unkempt and sweaty in your pictures.
- Take inspiration for outfits from your surroundings – since you are doing an outdoor photoshoot, you will want your outfits to match or blend with your surroundings. If you’re doing it by the shore in Jumeirah Beach, some airy clothes in pastel colours could match the scenery well. It’s important to wear outfits that are comfortable as well. You will be asked to make certain poses, so will want to be able to do them, without stretching out too much.
- Scout your location – every location has scenic spots that can serve as backdrops of your photoshoot. If you want to make the most of your time with photography, try to scout the location beforehand and check out which spots are the best. Imagine the best angles for shots, how you can highlight beauty of the location. Give your photographer your creative ideas, but also keep an open mind. And remember to just have fun while you’re at it!
